Q7

Two reasons why a film company would release a video game linked to the film.

- Releasing a video game linked to a film would be mostly for advertisement, this linking to all different age ranges. the movie being directed at more children, the video game would appeal to people of a older age, or even a family audience. this increases the range of people in which the brand itself relates too.  The idea of making sure that their brand relates to all ages is so they have a bigger variety of people buying their products, watching their movies etc. families are more likely to buy both products for their kids of different ages or the same, being able to appeal to families as a whole therefore making more sales within it. a wide market is family games and entertainment and they have met this market and an individual one.

- They might also want to give a wider opportunity for people to recognize and see the brand- if people use it and it becomes a bigger, well-known element within the company, friends might recommended it to their friends or you might see it being played on you tube and other social medias, this ultimately all helping the escalate the brands advertisement.

You have mostly understood this. Don't be afraid to state the obvious: vertical integration enables a business (like Warner) a to maximize the potential of a brand, in this case, Lego. It gives the existing audience new experiences and pleasures outside the film and reaches new audiences, such as non-cinema going video game players. With its successful global subculture, due to its vertical integration of games, films, magazines and competitions, the Lego brand can reach out to a larger audience through its range of products.
